Beat the BLAH with 3 Simple Energy-Cleansing Exercises

BLAHHHHH.... we all know that feeling. Too often we carry "unhelpful" energy-blockers-- from past experiences,  our thoughts, or even from other people-- often not even knowing who gave them to us!   Remember, cleanse your energy often. For a deep cleanse you may want to seek out a healing arts practitioner, but you can make a big difference yourself. The power is in the intention... frequent, confident intention.  
Here are 3 Simple Energy-Cleansing Exercises:

1. Shower Power

Water is wonderfully cleansing, and not just to get the stank out.  Natural "live" water works best, but "clean" water can also be useful.  Facing the  shower, think of the water as liquid divinity, cleansing you of negative energy, while filling you and protecting you with radiant love.   A similar practice also works with sunshine, rain, wind, and visualizing a white or golden light. 

2. Who needs Baditude when you have Gratitude? 

Gratitude is one of the quickest ways to fill you with healthy, clean energy: love.  It's pretty simple.  Make a list on paper or in your mind of all the big and little things you're grateful for.  Don't just think it, FEEL it.  The little things can be really fun too.  Ever take some time to really appreciate your big toe?  Daily practice of gratitude is encouraged, though it's much easier on days when everything is dandy.  On cruddy days, think of it like a warm cup of soup... even if you're not hungry, soup always makes you feel better :)   And if you just don't feel like it, be grateful that you don't have to!  

3.   Care-Bear Stare!
Ever notice that the Care-Bears defeated "evil" through a bright light that shot out of their stomachs?  It just so happens that our solar plexus chakra (stomach) is our POWER CENTRE and you can do this too.  Gather up a bunch of love energy, and start blasting it out to people.  Send it to anyone you come into contact with, with the intention of love, especially if you're having a hard time loving this person.  Send it to friends, family, strangers, people that freak you out, people that YOU freak out....  They won't consciously know, and it will make a difference for them. The best part is, you are preventing negative energy from entering you WHILE you cleanse your energy through the gift of healing.  As you blast this loving energy, more energy is pouring into you.  It's infinite, and feels amazi

Why Can't I Manifest My Desires?

On the LovingLife Reiki and Holistic Guidance facebook page, we have been posting many tips, videos, and articles on "Manifesting Your Dreams".  The truth is, some are able to manifest easily and others are left feeling discouraged and mistrusting of this concept. 

This may be a hard pill to swallow. Often we sabotage our own desires. We turn away when the universe offers us a hand. Why would we do this? Perhaps we are afraid to truly be happy. What would we be working towards if we were fully content with our lives? Some fear that being truly happy will bring resentment of others. Others are terrified that happiness simply is not possible, so why bother trying? Another possibility is that we may 'think' we want something, or we used to want something, but our heart simply isn't in it anymore, or has bigger priorities right now (like self-love). Have a conversation with your heart. See what happens.  This is a good place to start.

Why Would We Ever Resist Spring?!

Spring is here... and my brain is still wondering what happened to winter!  Nevertheless, I am always grateful for the reminders that Spring brings.  New life, new growth, a time to start anew.  No matter how dark it becomes, the light always returns.  Sometimes the light shines on what we have forgotten, but more often, it shines on a new perspective, with new possibilities. 

So why would we ever resist Spring?  Many people are describing growth at an accelerated rate this year.  If this is you, believe me, you are not alone.  Emotional and spiritual shifts have been predicted to start happening more quickly and intensely than ever before. I notice a part of myself resisting some of these new possibilities, still attached to the patterns I am accustomed to (especially the unhealthy bits!).  I can feel that every cell in my body is ready to shift into a new way of being.  Most of the time, I can't even help it from happening!  But along with this shifting is a constant voice of fear.  Do I really want to let go?  Is this too much too fast?  Who do I think I am?  Am I fooling myself?  I want the results without the process!  Deep breath Michelle.  Change can feel scary, but it is also exciting.  I remind myself that these shifts are the manifestation of my higher good-- of what I have asked for!  Yes, it may mean letting go of certain people, certain patterns, and certain comforts.  What helps me along?  Remembering that by letting go, space is created for new possibilities;  Practicing trust and patience with my higher self.  Imagine if a bud were to fear becoming a blossom!  So to the fear I say: Thank you for sharing, and I will continue on my way. 

Now that I've created space for growth, I must also watch out for that other voice that gets frustrated by the process.  Sometimes it feels like one step forward and two steps back... even though it is more likely to be two steps forward and one step back.  I think of growth as a forward spiral.  The backwards pull is also what propels us forward.  We know that not every seed sprouts, and not all buds blossom. Plus, it would be silly to rush the bloom of the flower, right?    

Life is constant change.  Suffering arises when we try to resist it.  Let us keep our eyes looking ahead, with gratitude for our past, trust in our future, and surrender to the flow of constant change in the moment.

I just wanted to put forth that for me- some of the most important meditations I've had are the ones that feel impossible, distracted, frustrating... when over and over I have to chose to come back to centre. This sheds layers, and clears corners I didn't know were cluttered with anger and sadness. It's easy to be grateful for the peaceful, serene meditations-- but let's give it up for the tough ones!
